PRIVACY POLICY

1. Data We Collect

When you create an account and use the Service, we store the following on our servers, linked to your account:

Email address — used as your account identifier and login credential
Password — stored as a bcrypt hash; we cannot recover or read it
Trading profile — the details you provide during onboarding or in My Strategy: trading style, experience, instruments, sectors, risk level, capital range, time commitment, goals, and any free-text notes you write about yourself. This is used to personalise AI responses to you.
Trade journal entries — trades you log (symbol, direction, P&L, optional entry/exit/size/stop, setup, emotion, mistakes, and notes). These are stored on our servers so they sync across your devices when you are signed in.
AI conversation history — your chats with Signal AI are retained (a rolling recent window) so the assistant remembers context across sessions. You can clear this at any time from the AI chat.
Account creation timestamp

We do not collect real names, phone numbers, or location data. We do not sell your data or send marketing emails.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not use advertising pixels or sell your data to third parties
We do not store payment card details ourselves — payments are processed by our Merchant of Record, Paddle, and card data is never seen or stored by Tapewise
We use your IP address transiently in memory for security rate-limiting only; it is not written to long-term storage

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to: authenticate you, personalise AI analysis to your trading profile, and enforce per-account usage limits.

4. Third-Party Services

Tapewise uses the following external services:

Anthropic Claude API — your questions and market context are sent to Anthropic to generate AI responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
Google Fonts — font files are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log these requests.
TradingView — chart widgets are embedded via iframe when you open a chart. TradingView's privacy policy applies.
Market-data providers — prices and market data are fetched server-side. Your personal data is not sent to them.

5. Data Retention

Your account data is stored until you delete your account. Session tokens expire after 24 hours. You can delete your account at any time from the My Account page.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 12). Session tokens are cryptographically random (256-bit). All data is stored in a local SQLite database on the server.

7. Your Rights

You may delete your account and all associated server-side data at any time from the My Account page. To request deletion of any residual data, contact us.

8. Children

Tapewise is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted in the app.
